Great for a 5 year old
I had my hesitations buying this book because I couldn't look inside and I was worried that it would be too complex for my 5 year old. It is very simple to read ~ not too many words on each page but lots of cool and beautiful illustrations that explain the story well. I was looking for something to explain the meaning of Colubus Day and who Columbus was and this is an excellent book for that. It takes you through his childhood up until after he finds new land. We are very happy with this book.

A nice introductory book about Christopher Columbus and the struggles he endured to fulfill his dreams of exploration. Follow the Dream is written with an easy to follow narrative and detailed illustrations that readers will enjoy getting lost in. I really liked learning about Columbus’s fears of a mutinous crew and his false doctoring of distance traveled to calm the anxious ship hands.
Bewitching storybook of Christopher Columbus
Everyone, ages 3 to dead, will be swept away by the amazing illustrations in this brief but powerful book about Columbus. The illustrations knock my socks off. This book is a treasure.
Great, informative book for younger kids
Engaging, artful pictures, true-to-history text, fun for my kindergartener to read and understand. Highly recommend for youngers and lower elementary.
Brings it alive
This books is excellent because it brings alive the pictures that the students have only imagined in their minds. The art is beautiful and eventhough there is not much print, the pictures speak for themselves.

This book has soul
I love children’s books with powerful ideas behind them. This is a story of grit and perseverance. The great achievers of our world have heard to many times the word “No” or “this is not a good idea” but they keep coming back...
Christopher Columbus is a hero
Christopher Columbus is a hero, explored and discovered an area that no one dare to discover.
Beautiful Rendition
I loved that this story started off by telling about Christopher Colombus as a boy and about how he got the funding for his trip. I wish it had explained a little more about the geography and why it was such a crazy idea, but I was able to talk through it with my two girls (age 4 and 6). This was a really nice introduction to early American History.
Perfect for Christmas!
This book is absolutely perfect for young children! So glad I ordered more than one copy to give at Christmas time!
